Images of Twin A Memoir of A Surviving Twin

Image
Twin Akilah                  Twin Akilah and Cousin Akilah is such a ball of energy. She is so articulate, smart, and such a diva. She is very emotional and sweet. She is bold and has a very good memory. I tell her all the time that she is a twin. She knows what twin means. For some reason twin books, shows, and presents all come in some type of twin form to her like a special gift from someone special. I call Akilah "Ibeji" Which is African for twin representation. I also call her "Twin". I call her these names so she will always known she is special and was born special and survived under special circumstances. When I upload these images I see her within Akilah my beautiful sweet Aminah. The Midwife From Hell

Reading Home Birth Disater Stories

I sit back and browse the Internet. This evening I decided to type "Home Birth Disaster Stories" into my computer and I was so disgusted. I just don't want to continue to be mad about the near death stories and actual death stories that I read about but if your not mad enough about it then nothing will change. I just can't believe the number of women and babies that are continuing to die all in the name of a "home birth". Home Birth has became more than a trend. It's becoming a way of live even though babies are dying or have had an near death experience. I was stupid for my decision to home birth and yes my stupidity cost me my daughters life. I think to myself to this day how did I trust someone that I really didn't know to come to my home to deliver my babies on time? I beat myself up a lot about it. What's done is done. Now I feel like I have to warn women who may not know about the risk that here are really taking even though I may be ridicu...

So You Killed My Daughter and Ran

That day was horrible.  May 24,2013.  That day I will always remember. Bittersweet, I had a beautiful baby girl and I lost a beautiful baby girl. A  sad lesson learned the hard way. If I could just save one woman for making that mistake Aminah's death would be more than just "another dead baby". The justice system is not on my side but I will continue to raise my daughter's name with greatness. She is a great memory. All the things I see in her sister I see in her although her body is not here. That midwife should be ashamed of herself. Thinking that she is just going to kill my baby and run. Who does she think I am? Does she know that she will never forget me? She will always remember Aminah. Why? She will remember me because I will shine light on the midwifery industry forever. I will always remember how Midwife Joann Falcon killed my daughter didn't step up to the plate. She passed me off in a time where her presence was needed. She killed my baby and still wen...

Home Birth Disaster

Image
June 17, 2013 I had to make the choice of letting my twin daughter Aminah pass.  It was truly the hardest decision that my husband have ever had to make.  Until that day, I never truly knew what real  pain and disappointment felt like. As I write these words now tears drop on the top of my keypad of my laptop.  What happened? Why me?  These are the questions that I ask myself everyday since her death. If any woman chooses to have a home birth with a midwife please make sure that it is something that you really want to do and realize that indeed it is a major risk that you are taking.   The pain of losing an infant is unbearable and I would like to prevent any other woman from going down the same path rather your having one baby or two. I found out I was pregnant with identical twins in November of 2012. We had already decided to have a home birth before the twin conformation. It was something we alwa...
