Joann Falcon & Jennifer Konkol's Statements of Birth Incident

These are a few documents that I want mommies to see. These are the statements of the two midwives involved in the death of my daughter Aminah. These statements had to be made by both midwives in response to my complaint. The Missouri Midwives Association peers reviewed these statements and my complaint and asked questions based on the events of the night.

Forgive me if the images are to small to read. I tried for a very long time to turn these pdf files into a picture file so that they may be viewed on my blog.

If you notice the midwife Joann's statement was only two short pages. Very sad.

By the way these statements are the closest thing to accountability with hearing personally how the incident happened that night in the eyes of the two midwives involved.




Below are the first two pages of Joann Falcons statement that I did not see until I went to the Grievance meeting. These statements were not given to me by the midwife herself but by Rachel the president of MMA.



These next 7 pages are Jennifer Konkol's statement which she herself presented to me at the Grievance Meeting. A lot people feel as though that I am wrong for bashing Jennifer. I have calmed down since the grievance meeting because AT LEAST SHE SHOWED UP. I gave her credit for that. What I can not do is lie about what happened that night and Jennifer was not experienced with twin delivery.

June 17, 2013 I had to make the choice of letting my twin daughter Aminah pass.  It was truly the hardest decision that my husband have ever had to make.  Until that day, I never truly knew what real  pain and disappointment felt like. As I write these words now tears drop on the top of my keypad of my laptop.  What happened? Why me?  These are the questions that I ask myself everyday since her death. If any woman chooses to have a home birth with a midwife please make sure that it is something that you really want to do and realize that indeed it is a major risk that you are taking.   The pain of losing an infant is unbearable and I would like to prevent any other woman from going down the same path rather your having one baby or two. I found out I was pregnant with identical twins in November of 2012. We had already decided to have a home birth before the twin conformation. It was something we always talked about . We decided to keep our  original plan to birth at home.

Holding NARM (North American Registry of Midwives) Accountable

These women are smart.  There is no accountability really at all when complaints are being filed or when a death has occurred on behalf of a midwife. Remember if your contacting NARM you probably are wanting to file or complaint or get some information. They are wonderful if you are trying to obtain information but if a baby has died you will get the VOICEMAIL often. They will forward your call and make false promises. They duck and dodge you and act like they have not forgotten about your case. If a death has occurred on behalf of a negligent midwife the Midwife will hide and NARM will act like the parent of the midwife and protect their little child. They hide in so many ways it's disgusting.  Shannon Anton for the accountability department has been on vacation for I don't know how long that is what they say every time I call.
